Hello and Retreat 2014 Info...

Retreat 2014 News!

Lots of details and plans in the works for Tree of Life Samplings to host a 2014 Retreat! If you are interested in attending in June of 2014, and would like more information emailed to you, please let me know via
email of that interest!

Contact email: jantreeoflifesamplings@gmail.com

Look forward to hearing from many of you!

I had posted this on the Tree of Life Samplings blog week before last, and decided I had better post here as well, so if I have any readers left here, you can see it too. I have been so bad about posting here. I am hoping to do better, but time is of a premium in my life! Anyway, thanks for being faithful, even though I haven't been!

I pray that your Christmas is blessed and your new year is bright!

Some shares and happenings...

Hello dear followers and readers~

The month of August is getting near it's end and I smell Autumn in the air! I have stitched most every day, but have little to share, as they are mostly smalls and I plan to share them after their trip to Faye, that extraordinary finisher! Although the next time I post I might just change my mind and share them anyway, just so that you know I do put needle through my linen as often as I can!

In the meantime I do have a few pictures to share of things that I brought home from the framer today. I am pleased to introduce Praise God in all of her finery...I am pleased as to how well she turned out with the molding that we chose to showcase her beauty:

Also picked up at the framer's was a project stitched for me by my dear Lori. It is by Shepherd's Bush Santa and Stockings and I am seriously thinking of hanging it up before Christmas and then forgetting to take it down. I LOVE it!!

Many of you already know of Faye Riggsbee (The Carolina Stitcher) and her extraordinary talent with creating lovely finishes...and lately she has been putting her own touches on some fabulously constructed and embellished project pouches! I wanted you to see the lining color, because I just love how it complements the outside of the pouch and the sweet felt embelllishments! I love it, Faye, thank you so much!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I am just thrilled with myself for getting another blog post in August....I certainly have been lax about it this year! All I can do is my best though, and hopefully maybe in the future be better with getting here more often!

I will be traveling to the northern part of Indiana this weekend to be a part of celebrating my granddaughter Addison Rose's 2 nd Birthday! Of course she is my Addi Bean and I just pray that the sweet years of her life are many and blessed. I know she is a blessing to me and I love her with my whole heart! Isn't she a cutey?

Until next time, may your days be blessed and your stitching time fruitful!

It is SO time....

for a blog post from moi! An incredible amount of time has elapsed since my last post and I am feeling a bit of shame! I think my biggest hangup is I see this as my personal stitching blog and if I don't have any pics to share of my recent stitching, then I might just as well be silent. And I know that isn't always the unwritten rule, so I am going to try to do better!

I do have a couple finishes, yay!

First is Mary Garry's Sewing Cabin 'Peace', which I finished and had framed, right before Retreat in June and just didn't have the chance to share it with you all here. And then after Retreat, I just kind of forgot that I didn't show you...but here she is...I made a few small changes in the design, but not many.

Second, which I just finished stitching last week, but took to the framer today, is La-D-Da's Praise God:

Stitched on 32 ct Linen (the name leaves me at the moment)
Recommended overdyed fibers by Weeks

I had the pleasure of SAL-ing the Praise God piece with my dear friend, Robin (she enjoys being referred to no-blog Robin, because she has no blog, but has several blogging friends and visits many of your blogs). It is always fun stitching along with another friend, don't you all think? Makes me a bit more accountable, and helps me get to the finish line quicker. Thanks, Robin, it was fun...when are we going to do the next one? lol

As for what I have been doing other than stitching the last couple of months, I can pretty much narrow it down to 2012 ToLS Retreat and visiting with my grandbabies and family! I have been getting the groundwork done a couple of new designs, as well, two original and a reproduction.

I will leave you now with two of my favorite people in the world, and this moment caught by their mother, shows their excitement, don't you think?

Thanks so very much for stopping by and leaving a comment! I understand how busy life gets, so when you visit AND leave a comment, I appreciate it more than you know! And I will be back sooner then the last time, promise!

Love, Jan

Just a postscript, if some of you aren't followers of my Tree of Life Samplings blog, you may not yet have read my interview at Norden Crafts! I am the designer feature this week on their blog: nordencrafts.blogspot.com. It was fun and I feel very honored!
